Did TikTok star Charli D’Amelio do something to deserve to be shadowbanned or is the platform just glitching and having technical issues?
Charli D’Amelio has called out TikTok after seeing that some of her most recent videos had received a grand total of zero views, leading many of her admirers to believe that she had been shadowbanned from the platform.

D’Amelio has almost 135 million followers on her TikTok account, where she has amassed a total of 10.5 billion video views to date. As one of the most well-known influencers on the platform, it is odd to discover that her account his facing some concerning issues.
The TikTok star revealed that on February 9 she was having problems uploading new videos to the platform, leading her to believe that she may have been shadowbanned.

Shadowbanning is a highly controversial method of censorship that big tech companies often use. It is also known as stealth banning, ghost banning, or comment ghosting.
Shadow banning is the technique of excluding or restricting access to a person or their material from certain portions of an online community in such a manner that the user is not immediately aware that they have been banned.
In addition to not being able to upload, Charli D’Amelio’s latest TikTok videos are not receiving any views or comments. Her fans checked to see if any of her new content was visible online but, despite having posted recently, the app only shows videos up to February 8th which means TikTok have almost certainly shadowbanned Charli D’Amelio.
Why was Charlie D’Amelio banned?
As of recently TikTok has shadowbanned many thousands of accounts that have brought up controversial topics such as vaccine injuries, freedom trucker convoy among many others. Although Charli D’Amelio has not discussed any of these topics at large, it is possible that one of her old videos triggered the TikTok algorithm to shadowban her account.
Marco D’Amelio, her father, was also accused of purchasing bots and followers for Charli’s TikTok account which is against the platform’s Terms of Service policy. However, if this was true her entire account would likely be permanently banned.
A leaked photo from 2017 showed that Charli D’Amelio had several Trump/Pence posters in her room resulting in thousands of her fans sending her death threats. Although Charli D’Amelio has said that she never supported Trump, a lot of people don’t believe her.

Sadly, the real reason for D’Amelio’s shadowban has not been disclosed by TikTok. This could just be a technical issues, but all signs point to this being a real shadowban.
