There’s a new Avengers on the way, but this time things are going to be a little different. It’s called A-Force and we will only see an all female cast. That’s right, no men allowed.
At first it was just speculation, Disney/Marvel were looking at doing an all female Avengers movie, but a source close to Disney assures us that an all female A-Force movie is on the cards. It would not be the first movie to replace the entire cast with female leads; Ocean’s 8 and the 2016 reboot of Ghostbusters both did the same thing.

However, both of these movies tanked at the box office. Ocean’s 8, albeit packing a star studded cast, only brought in $297m world wide while Ghostbusters brought in a measly $229m world wide barely breaking even. So, why risk doing the same with a Marvel/Disney movie?
It honestly seems like Disney doesn’t have much of a choice with all the key Marvel Cinematic Universe players now out of the picture. Iron Man is gone. Captain America is gone. The Hulk is gone. Hawkeye is gone. Spider-Man is gone. And now Disney are allegedly considering cancelling Ant-Man.
Disney are reportedly injecting more female superheroes into the MCU and plan on making an all female Avengers lead by Captain Marvel. The next phase is set to introduce Ironheart (female Iron Man), Almighty Thor (female Thor), Scarlet Witch, and She-Hulk. With Valkyrie, Gamora and Captain Marvel sure to return, that’s a pretty impressive line-up of superheroes.
Female Avengers is really happening
Captain Marvel actress, Brie Larson, recently excitedly endorsed the project. “I’m scared and I don’t know what the future holds either. I’m not let into those top-secret meetings, so we’ll see. We’ll see what happens. I love all the female characters so much. So of course like that’s what I’m interested in. I’m super into an all-female Avengers movie. Yeah, I think that would just be, it would just be cool to see all of them interact together.”
An all female Avengers is really happening but the plot is still unknown. Surely the all female aspect will somehow be tied to it. Maybe they go to a planet where men are forbidden. Perhaps they rise against the patriarchy. Who knows.
