Aussie star Ruby Rose, 34, quits CW’s Batwoman amid low ratings and bad reviews.

“This was not a decision I made lightly as I have the utmost respect for the cast, crew and everyone involved with the show,” Ruby Rose said in her statement.

She continued: “I’m beyond appreciative to [the show’s producers] for not only giving me this incredible opportunity, but for welcoming me into the DC universe they have so beautifully created.”

Before CW’s Batwoman Rose was on her way to the A-list especially after having starred alongside Keanu Reeves in the critically acclaimed action movie John Wick Chapter 2. Sadly, CW’s Batwoman did not match the actress’s energy and it had abysmal ratings and bad reviews.

The Guardian published a review saying that the felt low budget with its sets and lighting and was, over all, ‘heroically bad’.

With the surrounding negative press and the low ratings the most logical and sound decision Rose could make was to distance herself from the franchise.

The studio has released statement saying the the Batwoman series would take a “new direction” after Rose’s departure and that she would be replaced with “a new lead actress and member of the LGBTQ community in the coming months.”
