Bloom, the show about everlasting youth, is racking up award nominations

Bryan Brown, Jacki Weaver, John Stanton and Usha Cornish are all up for 2019 AACTA awards for their performances in the Stan Original series Bloom.

On the 23rd of October it was announced that award-winning Stan Original series Bloom has been nominated for Best Drama Series in the upcoming 2019 AACTA Awards.

Bloom is an Australian web television series which airs on Stan. The six-part mystery was released on 1 January 2019. The series stars Bryan Brown, Jacki Weaver, Phoebe Tonkin, and Ryan Corr. It takes place a year after a devastating country flood kills five people, a new plant is discovered with the power to restore youth. This is a miracle for locals but some are prepared to kill for it.

Earlier this year Bloom won a TV Week Logie for Most Outstanding Miniseries, with Jacki Weaver also winning for Most Outstanding Supporting Actress. Bryan Brown was nominated for Most Outstanding Actor.

A second season of Bloom has also been commissioned with production to commence over summer.

As well as receiving nomination for best Drama Series, a large part of the cast has also received nomination: Bryan Brown for Best Lead Actor in a Television Drama, Jacki Weaver for Best Guest or Supporting Actress in a Television Drama, John Stanton for Best Guest or Supporting Actor in a Television Drama, and Usha Cornish. for Best Female New Talent.
