Call of Duty: Blackout is The Most Immersive Battle-Royale Game

Date:

Battle-Royale mode games are all the rage today, and the genre certainly isn’t lacking in variety. There are plenty of free-to-play options available on PlayStation, Xbox and PC — but what about Call of Duty: Blackout? It costs a pretty penny, but is it worth it?

The short answer is yes! Although AUD$80.00 may seem a bit steep for a battle royale game, I personally believe that no other game of this genre comes close to delivering the amount of content that Blackout does. Not only is it packed with content, but it is the most immersive first-person shooter experience available today.

What truly makes a great game is level design and somehow Blackout’s map manages to be huge and not seem like barren wasteland a la PUBG. Each area of the map has its own character. Whether you decide to drop at the estates where there are three story luxury condos, or the small rundown village of Rivertown where you’ll find little convenience stores, there is plenty of structures around that can create some epic gunfight moments.

To really get a feel of just how amazing the map is you can use the theatre mode to replay your last game and see exactly how the game played out. You can jump to any player in that game and watch their entire match; this helps you get a better understanding of the map.

This also showcases some of those finer details that we often miss when playing the game, like those death animations. Seeing drop like a sack of meat after being pumped full of lead and then roll around in pain before actually dying is… something else. It’s disturbing, for sure, but you got admire the attention to detail in the game. That’s what makes the game so immersive.

Blackout, at the moment, is the most fleshed-out Battle Royale game on the market. It may not be free-to-play, but it offers a hell of a lot more than any game of its type. If you’ve got some old games you want to get rid off, you might be able to take them into EB Games and trade them in for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. It is definitely worth it.
