Spotify confirmed that they are going to be dipping their toes into video streaming come September, 2020, after securing a massive exclusivity deal with the world’s most popular podcast host Joe Rogan.

The 100-million dollar contract will take effect in September, 2020, and all of Joe Rogan’s podcast — new and old — will only be available on Spotify.

Our sources revealed that Spotify had reached out to several big YouTube and Twitch personalities as their goal is to take on YouTube in 2021. The music streaming service will start hosting and streaming partnered video content later this year before they open their platform to the public later in 2021.

Dr. Disrespect and other big streamers might be heading to Spotify in September.

On the day that Dr. Disrespect was banned from Twitch someone claiming to have insider information revealed that his 20-million dollar deal was immediately terminated when it was discovered that he was in negotiations with Spotify. Twitch were allegedly planning to sue Guy “Dr. Disrespect” Beahm for a breach of contract.

The rumour was quickly dismissed as it seemed to imply that Google owned Spotify which was false. However, others argued that the original post did not claim that Google owned Spotify but instead hinted that Twitch were dragging both YouTube and Spotify to court for trying to poach Dr. Disrespect.

Dr. Disrespect has remained silent about his ban until he donated to his friend, former FaZe clan member, Nick ‘Nickmercs’ Kolcheff during his livestream saying that, “Twitch needed a scapegoat.”

When pressed on Dr. Disrespect’s ban Nickmercs also insinuated that he knew the reason, but replied, “I’ll tell you in two months.”

His response seemed to indicate that Guy “Dr. Disrespect” Beahm’s ban was indeed for legal reasons and that he might be under a very strict NDA until September, 2020.

During one of The Doc’s livestreams in May, 2020, he discussed Joe Rogan’s Spotify move and described it as “a huge deal,” before confirming that he had also talked to Spotify.

Is it a coincidence that Spotify are launching their video hosting and streaming service the same month that Nickmercs alleges we will hear more from Dr. Disrespect, or is that why he got banned from Twitch?
