It’s been all but conveyed on film; Dumbledore’s and Grindelwald will finally be confirmed as former lovers in the next Fantastic Beasts.

Although there was no real interest in Dumbledore’s love life, or the lack thereof, Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling did confirm that he had a steamy romp with the Fantastic Beasts baddy when he was younger.

Although it was pretty huge for the LGBTQ community to have one of the most powerful, and most lovable, characters from the Potterverse gay, fans did criticise JK Rowling for just trying to win over some diversity points.

Fans felt kind of let down because this was never confirmed in the books or in the films and was only made cannon after a comment from the author, on Twitter nonetheless.

Rowling’s little after thought was mostly brushed off as merely that and memes about her changing things up in the cannon for no reason and after-the-fact became a pretty popular meme.

This scene allegedly will play a big part in, what they are calling, ‘an absolutely heart shattering finale’ when the two meet for the last time.
