All Cyberpunk 2077 cutscenes, including romance, will be in first-person

A CD Projekt Red developer, today, confirmed that all Cyberpunk 2077 cutscenes will be in first-person leaving fans worried and confused.

In an interview with nightcitylife.de, CDPR level designer, Miles Tost went into extreme detail when discussing the intricacies of Cyberpunk 2077 game design. Tost went on to explain how much emphasis they are putting on immersion and thus all Cyberpunk 2077 cutscenes would be in first-person, including some of the game’s raunchy romantic scenes.

Did you know?

A fan reached out to the developer’s official Facebook page for clarification, as the interview is in Germany and could have easily been poorly translated. “Hi. Some people have said there will be no more TPP in cutscenes. Is that true?” The page admin responded by confirming that all cutscenes would, in fact, only be in first-person, “In Cyberpunk 2077, immersion is very important to us, so yes, all cutscenes are in FPP.”

Cyberpunk 2077 Facebook confirms

The Facebook admin reassured the user that nothing has been cut for the game; there are still explicit romance scenes but they’d also be in first-person perspective.

Sources close to us explained that CD Projekt Red’s decision to make all cutscenes in first-person perspective was made so that the game would be VR ready at launch; something that Sony, and now Valve, are allegedly adamantly pushing for. Sony, especially, seem to be putting all their chips on the technology according to recent patent leaks.

Perhaps there will be a patch post-launch that will allow people to switch between perspectives freely during gameplay, but, as of now, all Cyberpunk 2077 cutscenes, including romance, will be locked to first-person.

Does this bother you or are you excited that the CDPR are so focused on making the game as immersive as possible? Let us know in the comments below.
