Cyberpunk 2077 system requirements: you can run it on a potato

Date:

CD Projekt Red’s upcoming game, Cyberpunk 2077, is one of the most ambitious games of the decade, yet it runs on a potato PC. Here are the system specs.

The developers at CD Projekt Red know what they are doing; so much is proven by their masterfully made Witcher series. Now they are making that everyone can play Cyberpunk 2077 with their low system requirements.

NEWS: Among Us sorta ripped off this amazing free-to-play videogame.

You’re mind has probably been blown with the snippets of Cyberpunk 2077 footage you’ve seen. The game boasts a massive open world, beautiful next gen graphics, and some super deep gameplay mechanics.

The game is so impressive that Sony themselves begged the developer to postpone the release of the game so they could show case it on their next-gen console; the PlayStation 5.

Cyberpunk 2077 system requirements: a potato PC with low specs can run this beautiful looking game.

Yep… Sony are using Cyberpunk 2077 as the PlayStation 5 system seller. But do you really need a next gen console or a high end PC to play the game? Nope.

Cyberpunk 2077 minimum system specs:

  • OS: Windows 7 or 10, 64-bit
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-3570K or AMD FX-8310
  • Memory: 8GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 3GB or AMD Radeon RX 470
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Storage: 70 GB HDD, SSD recommended

Cyberpunk 2077 recommended system specs:

  • OS: Windows 10, 64-bit
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-4790 or AMD Ryzen 3 3200G
  • Memory: 12GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB or AMD Radeon R9 Fury
  • DirectX: Version 12
  • Storage: 70 GB SSD

Wait… this massive game only takes up 70GB? All the dialogue in the game equates to roughly to “two thick novels” and it is all spoken. Then, on top of that, there is… well… everything else!

C2077 graphics RTX and 4K

Cyberpunk 2077 system specs claim you only need 70GB of available HD space.

To give you an example, Naughty Dog’s latest triple-A title, The Last of Us Part II, is 100GB. That game is not open-world, it is also very linear and doesn’t even compare when it comes to the open of spoken dialogue.

A 10 year old computer can easily run Cyberpunk 2077.

The game requires a a minimum of GTX 700 series graphics card. That card game out in 2013 and, today, costs just over $200. Obviously, if you wanted to build a system to play the game, you’d pick up a newer graphic card, but at least this gives you an example of just how well optimised the game is.

Real NPCS and shops

Cyberpunk 2077 minimum system requirements means that this game will most likely play on your grandparents 10-year-old laptop.

The Intel Core i5-3570K CPU released in 2012 and reached its EOF in 2015. So, in a nutshell, you can play Cyberpunk 2077 on your mother’s dodgy laptop that she uses to browse Facebook with. That’s mighty impressive.

To boot, The Global Community Lead atCD Projekt Red, Marcin Momot, also claimed that Cyberpunk 2077 — with the necessary hardware — will run on 4K at 60fps and support Realtime Raytracing.

CD Projekt Red have also promised a free next-gen upgrade to anyone who either purchases the Xbox One or the PlayStation 4 versions of the game, so don’t — I repeat — don’t spend an extra $10 for the next-gen copy and pre-order the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One version today.

The PC version is already up on Amazon for pre-order and is cheap as chips. You can pre-order your copy of Cyberpunk 2077 for $50.

Cyberpunk 2077 is set to launch worldwide on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 19th, 2020. Make sure you pre-order your copy today so you don’t miss out.
