Into the Radius 2 arrives on PlayStation VR2 on 24 September 2026, but anyone planning to survive its haunted wasteland with a friend should mark a second date window. The PS VR2 version launches with a full single-player campaign. Its two-player co-op is planned as a free update in the fourth quarter of 2026.

That split is the most useful detail in CM Immersive’s PlayStation announcement. The PlayStation Store listing currently describes the game as one-player and requires a PS VR2 headset and Sense controllers. The developer’s broader website discusses solo and co-op play, but that does not override the platform-specific launch plan.

What you get on September 24

The sequel sends players back into the Pechorsk Anomaly, a landscape where hostile creatures are only part of the problem. The studio describes electric hazards, darkness-swallowing anomalies and a periodic “Tide” that resets enemy and loot locations. It is built around preparation rather than sprinting toward the next firefight.

Gear is central. You can arrange pouches and holsters on a chest rig, build weapons from modular parts and maintain those parts between expeditions. According to CM Immersive, dirt and wear can cause a rifle to jam at the wrong moment. That is the kind of tactile inconvenience that can make VR survival satisfying—or exhausting—depending on your patience.

The studio also says the PS VR2 edition uses Sense adaptive triggers, headset and controller haptics, 3D audio, eye-tracked foveated rendering and native 90fps performance. Those are developer claims ahead of the console launch, not our own performance measurements. Whether the dense fog stays crisp in the headset will need a hands-on check.

Co-op is a later, free update

CM Immersive says the two-player mode will arrive in Q4 2026 as a free post-launch update. It has not given a day within that window. The studio says both modes will share the same story and missions, so waiting to play together should not mean buying a separate campaign.

The distinction matters because the game’s official site already showcases team play. For this PS VR2 launch, solo first, co-op later is the accurate purchase expectation. If your main reason to enter the Radius is playing with someone else, wait for the update to land and be reviewed before treating the feature as available.

Where it fits in VR

Into the Radius 2 is selling a slower, more methodical kind of headset play than the comic carnage of GORN 2. Its attention to physical objects also shows why VR developers keep treating hands as more than a controller pointer. The recent Moss couch co-op update took a very different approach to sharing a headset experience.

For PS VR2 owners, the immediate decision is straightforward: the 24 September release is a solo survival game with an announced free co-op update. Wishlist it now if that appeals, but do not mistake the promised Q4 mode for a launch feature.
