Metroid Prime 4 October release date “accidentally” leaked by retailer

Date:

A French retailer listed Metroid Prime 4 available for pre-order and an October release on their online store before quickly deleting it.

According to a World Trade & Technologies listing, Metroid Prime 4 is set to release on the Nintendo Switch on October 31, 2020. Nintendo reportedly reached out to the retailer and asked them to remove the post.

NEWS: Marvel’s Avengers game called divisive and “deeply concerning.”

The highly anticipated sequel to one of Nintendo’s top IPs was initially revealed in 2017 in an announcement trailer. Now, almost 3-years later, the game is allegedly about to release.

Fans waited 10-years for an announcement.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption released in 2007 on the Nintendo Wii and received near-perfect scores from fans and game journalists alike.

“The original Metroid Prime is one of the highest-rated games in existence, but Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is easily superior. It’s far less frustrating, and more action packed, while managing to redefine console shooting controls in the process,” GameTrailers concluded in their review, scoring a 9.6 out of 10.

However, Retro Studios wont be at the helm of the new Metroid Prime game this time around. Nintendo revealed Bandai Namco is taking charge of development for the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch sequel.

Just how reliable is the Metroid Prime 4 leak?

World Trade & Technologies (WT&T) have a track record of “accidentally” leaking game release dates.

Metroid Prime 4 coming to Nintendo Switch October 31, 2020

Metroid Prime 4 (Nintendo Switch) October 31, 2020, release date leak comes from French retailer WT&T.

According to fellow pop-culture site, Micky, WT&T pulled a similar stunt that gave a revealed the release date of The Witcher 3 on the Switch. So, perhaps, this French retailer have some pull with Nintendo of Europe.

Nintendo have not yet commented on the leak and no official release date for Metroid Prime 4 has been announced. But if this leak is legitimate — which it seems to be — then fans only need to wait a few more hands to play Samus Aran again.
