CUTIES: Netflix controversial movie slammed for sexualising children

Date:

Netflix’s Cuties; a controversial new movie about a 11-year-old girl who aspires to be an erotic dancer, outrages viewers.

While Netflix are scrubbing their servers of any content their team deems to be too problematic for liberal minded people, they have no problems pushing content that is highly offensive to conservatives… and Netflix’s Cuties (originally known as Mignonnes in French) is a perfect example of this.

NEWS: Amber Heard slammed for going braless to mosque.

Maïmouna Doucouré, 35-year-old French-Senegalese writer and director, admitted that her new Netflix film is an attack on conservative values.

The tagline for the new film reads: “Eleven-year-old Amy starts to rebel against her conservative family’s traditions when she becomes fascinated with a free-spirited dance crew.”

Controversial new French movie acquired by Netflix “CUTIES” slammed for sexualising minors.

“It’s about about a young girl who meets a group of dancers called Cuties, and fascinated she’s going to start a very social dance to gender bond and, at the same time, escape family dysfunction,” Maïmouna Doucouré revealed in an interview at The Sundance Film Festival where her film first premiered.

The “family dysfunction” the Cuties director speaks off is their conservative values, and Amy — played by newcomer and child actor Fathia Youssouf — rebels against them by joining a dance group and asserts her feminist values by expressing her blossoming sexuality.

Despite winning a award at the Sundance Film Festival, the Cuties director, Doucouré, also stated that the film industry is sexist and racist and that her film is a protest piece about the patriarchy.

The controversial film is not just offending Amy’s fictional conservative family, but moderate and conservative folks around the world.

“CUTIES” slammed as it has received a MA15+ rating in Australia and R17+ in the USA.

Australian comedian and YouTuber, Isaac Butterfield, took aim at the new movie in a Tweet this afternoon, baffled how his comedy special was rejected by Netflix for being too offensive and the Cuties movie isn’t.

“Hang on, My comedy special was ‘Too offensive; for Netflix, and yet here they are showing off how people sexualise children under the guise of sport/hobby. That’s f***ed up,” he Tweeted.

The film, although starring children 11 and younger, contains explicit sexual themes and therefore, here in Australia, is rated MA15+. That means this movie is not suitable viewing for children, even if viewed with an adult. So, in a nutshell, this a show about young girls erotically dancing, made by adults, for adults.

The trailer for Cuties on YouTube — which shows the child actors strut around scantily clad and often in tight revealing shorts — has over 37,000 dislikes and counting

Netflix have not yet released a statement regarding their controversial film which will premiere on their platform on September 9th worldwide.
