Gay Spider-Man could be Tom Holland’s and Kevin Feige’s big surprise

Date:

What started as just wishful thinking by some might now become a reality in the upcoming Spider-Man movie. Feige and Holland want Peter to come out off the closet.

At first it it seemed as though Peter Parker’s sexual orientation was confirmed to follow cannon as fans saw him hit it off with MJ in Spider-Man: Far From Home, but that might just change.

Feige and Holland are both very excited about Peter Parker’s, now seemingly permanent, future in the MCU especially now that Kevin Feigi and the MCU have full creative control off the character.

Disney themselves are finally starting to introduce original openly gay and lesbian characters into their movies. Onward, a children’s Disney/Pixar animated film, was the first to see a openly lesbian character. The character is the cyclops police officer, Spector. The film also stars two MCU favourites: Tom Holland (Spider-Man) and Chris Pratt (Star-Lord).

Mark Ruffalo previously revealed that Kevin Feige almost quit his job because ‘there wasn’t enough’ LGBTQ representation in the MCU.

MCU want more LGBTQ representation: Could Tom Holland play a gay Spider-Man?

Ruffalo said: “When we did the first Avengers, Kevin Feige told me, ‘Listen, I might not be here tomorrow.’ And he’s like, ‘Ike does not believe that anyone will go to a female-starring super movie.’ So if I am still here tomorrow you will know that I won that battle.”

Since then Feige has almost entirely gender-swapped the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we are mostly getting female super-hero movies in the coming years, the next logical inclusive step is to diversify sexuality, and they have reportedly already started.

Among some of the new women heroes we will be seeing the return of Black Widow, She-Hulk, The Mighty Thor, Iron-Heart, and Shuri will be taking over as The Black Panther.

MCU want more LGBTQ representation: Could Tom Holland play a gay Spider-Man?

To boot we are also getting, at least, two more Captain Marvel movies and an all-female Avengers movie based on the popular A-Force comics.

So, with female representation counted for, according to Feige and Holland, all that is remaining is LGBTQ representation… and Feige did tease that one of our favourite Avengers just might be queer.

Some people claim to have a solution for Peter Parker being gay. “A lot of men don’t even come out until after their married and had children. Peter could just be either too scared to come out or not know his preference and be questioning,” one fan states.

Some others are not concerned, or likely care, about the sexual orientation of a made up super-hero, “I don’t care who Parker porks in his downtime. We don’t need to know.”
