Hollywood excited about lesbian Die Hard movie starring Charlize Theron

Hollywood are considering a lesbian-charged reboot of the Die Hard movie after Charlize Theron shows interest on Twitter.

What started off as a random tweet from a self-declared “actually autistic” trasnsgender historian has now become the talk of Tinsel town. Are Hollywood really interested in making an all-lesbian reboot of Die Hard?

NEWS: New Harry Potter movie rumoured to be set before Cursed Child.

The name Charlize Theron has become synonymous with action movies ever since she starred alongside Tom Hardy in the 2016 reboot of Mad Max and now the 45-year-old actress wants to reboot yet another classic action movie, but this time with a lemon twist.

Last December Theron retweet a post on Twitter where someone suggested that she do a lesbian only reboot of Die Hard. At first people thought she was joking about but Charlize Theron has since doubled down claiming she’s “dead serious” about wanting to make that movie happen.

Lesbian Die Hard tweet
Transgender “actually autistic” historian wants a lesbian-charged Die Hard reboot starring Charlize Theron.

In an interview for Vanity Fair’s annual Hollywood issue, Theron doubled down on wanting to sign on for the project and encouraged her executive friends to make the film.

When asked about the lesbian-charged Die Hard reboot, Theron said, “Yeah, I mean, it’s a great idea … That’s why I replied on Twitter. Because I just thought that was kind of brilliant. I was like, ‘This person needs to start pitching. That’s a great idea.’ And the fact that it would be two women, I was like, ‘Yeah, sign me on.’”

Theron has previously insinuated that she’s fed up with toxic masculinity and believes there is a lot of sexism involved when she’s making a male-centric action films.

Theron no makeup old
Charlize Theron, 45-year-old, thinks she’s got what it takes for a lesbian Die Hard reboot.

“I realized there was still so much misconception around women and the genre,” Theron explained at Comic-Con last year. “Even though in that film the action is really based on on cars, we had to physically do a lot of that stuff,” she said. “There was a real pressure to pull off those stunts with the actors … there was a very unfair process that went with that. I was the only woman with a bunch of guys and I remember vividly getting the schedule in our pre-production, and they had scheduled me for six weeks more hard training than any of the guys. It was just so insulting.”

The director of Mad Max revealed that she had the same expectations of Theron as he did the rest of the cast regardless of gender but she believes that they “put a real fire under her ass” only because she was female.

“I was like, ‘All right, you guys want to play this game, let’s go,’” she said. “I made it a point to outdrive all of those guys.” Theron then recalled a time when she was training with her Italian Job costar and bragged about outdoing him

“I vividly remember Mark Wahlberg, halfway through one of our training sessions, pulling over and throwing up because he was so nauseous from doing 360s.”

The Hollywood hills are filled with chatter and hype about the prospect of a lesbian-charged reboot of Die Hard but there has been no official word on whether the film is actually going to be made. But a lot of people seem to believe that Charlize Theron has the star power to make it happen.

Most people outside of Hollywood are not to thrilled about seeing one of their favourite Christmas/Action movies turned into some kind of progressive protest piece.

Bruce Willis, 33, Die Hard
Bruce Willis was only 33-years-old when he starred in the first Die Hard movie.

“Here we go again. These idiots lose millions doing this crap, they must have elite backing or who could afford to keep losing that much,” Mark Webb, a member of The Movie Talk Club, said on Facebook.

Jonathon Lynsday added: “More woke pandering nonsense money grab to an established franchise! didn’t we learn our lessons from Ghostbusters 2016 and Ocean’s 8? Those underperformed at the box office even Terminator 6 and Charlie’s Angels man-bashing reboot BOMBED. This Die Hard reboot is gonna fail big time.

“Just do a different movie with different characters and don’t call it “Die Hard” as it’s just lazy brand name recognition stealing to cash-in on a past success. Just do it as Atomic Blonde 2 as at least Atomic Blonde is it’s own thing and own franchise. But no, you just want to harp out a dead popular franchise for agenda nonsense rather than characters and stories. I’m tired of old brand name movies/film franchises brought back like Star Wars, Ghostbusters, Bill and Ted etc., for agenda rather than character and story to turn a franchise into a joke. That’s what kills an established beloved franchise.”

Well, she is currently producing a sequel to one of those films. Atomic Blonde 2 has been confirmed to be in production and Charlize Theron will reprise her role as Lorraine Broughton.
