Spider-Man 3 filmed in NYC, might star Tobey Maguire & Andrew Garfield

Date:

Disney/Marvel have confirmed that they will start filming Spider-Man 3 next month and fans are convinced it’s a Spider-Verse filming starring Maguire, Garfield, and Holland.

Spider-Man 3 (believed to be titled Home Sweet Home) will start filming in New York City next week… without Tom Holland!

NEWS: The new Batwoman might be a transgender hero named Ryan.

Fans are hoping to see to see two of Sony’s former Spideys in the final Spider-Man film to be made by Disney/Marvel. Sony are allowing Disney and Marvel studios to make include Peter Parker — your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man — in one last movie.

The Sony-Disney partnership almost fell apart last year when Disney tried to renegotiate the deal. The Mouse House wanted a larger cut of the sales while still demanding that Sony fork out for production. Sony, understandably, rejected the offer and pulled Spider-Man from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Serenity Now filmed in NYC

Disney/Marvel later came to their senses and apologised to Sony and agreed to their terms. The new deal meant that Feige will oversee production for the third, and final, film and Marvel and Disney will now receive about 25% of the profits. Disney will also continue to receive 100% of merchandise sales and will finance a quarter of the film’s production.

Feige also agreed to include some of Sony’s Spider-Man characters in the third movie and, until recently, people believed that would be Tom Hardy’s Venom… but now people are hoping it is Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield as their respective Spideys.

UPDATE: Venom 2 to tease epic clash with Spider-Man!

The Spider-Man 3 rumour kicked off after Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield were spotted in a photograph where they appeared to be in public together. However, the photo was confirmed to be photoshopped. Later WeGotThisCovered claimed that a source close to production revealed that Maquire and Garfield would appear in the final scene of the film.

Holland, Maguire and Garfileld

However, the Sony deal might mean that Garfield and Maguire might actually have bigger roles in new Spider-Man movie; and it could actually be the highly anticipated Spider-Verse film.

Disney/Marvel will start filming Spider-Man 3 (Home Sweet Home) next week in New York, but Tom Holland is currently still in Spain filming another Sony film; the film adaptation to Naughty Dog’s critically acclaimed videogame Uncharted.

The third and final Marvel Cinematic Universe Spider-Man film is still set to release to theatres in December, 2021.
