The outstanding success of Joker has got DC planning their next villain origin story movie, and so far all signs point to a Trump inspired Lex Luthor.
According to Mikey Sutton, a credible comic book insider with a history of leaking accurate MCU and DCU info, Warner Bros. is thinking about making a film about Luthor as a hated capitalist US president a la Trump.

Like Joker, this movie will be separate from the current running DCEU story-line and will not star Jesse Eisenberg. It will tell the tale of Lex Luthor, a genius inventor and venture capitalist, as he becomes the wealthiest man in the states and ultimately become the head of the most powerful office in the United States.
The Man of Steel exists only as a myth, urban legend, and a beacon of hope to people who wish to see Luthor’s reign snuffed.
“To WB, this has the potential of being a modern-day Citizen Kane. You see Luthor grow up from being an awkward intellectual kid to corrupt wealthy businessman to president of the United States. Slap on an R rating and leave the comic books behind but perhaps put a twist on the myth such as making Lois Lane his First Lady, but also the reporter who brings him down.”
This modern take on Lex Luthor seems like a fictional take on the current U.S. president Donald J. Trump. Americans are currently divided in opinion when it comes to the current president so there’s no shock that this has already caused arguments.
“Trump’s not that bad. Change my mind,” wrote one fan. Despite the planned Luthor film seemingly painting Donald Trump as a villain many DC fans who do support Trump are very excited to see it and do not plan to boycott. The response from the other side, however, was not as tolerant of the idea, “Luthor is my favourite villain and if they dare compare someone as evil as Trump to Luthor then I will never see another DC movie ever again.”
