Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine was released 6 months early from prison because his asthma condition was ‘too high risk’ of coronavirus while in prison.
On Thursday afternoon the 23 year old mumble rapper known as Tekashi 6ix9ine was released from federal prison. He is to serve the final months of his sentence in home confinement, because a judge has ruled that the rapper’s health would be severely affected if he were to contract coronavirus.

Daniel Hernandez, whose rapper stage name is Tekashi 6ix9ine, is serving a two-year sentence related to his involvement with Nine Trey Bloods which is a violent street gang. He was approved of an early release from prison in August for being a ‘model prisoner’.
6ix9ine will be released to home confinement due to the high infection rates of coronavirus in the city which the rapper is serving his sentence, New York.

Last week the New York City mayor, Bill de Blasio, announced that at least 900 inmates in the city had already been released because of the spread of COVID–19.
The rapper is said to have a rather severe case of asthma by his lawyer, Lance Lazzaro, which puts him at high risk of complications if he were to contract the virus.
Among other incarcerated celebrities who are now using the same excuse to be released early are R. Kelly and Bill Cosby. It is, however, unlikely that they get to be released due to the severity of their cases and the length of their sentences.
Lazzaro has said Tekashi 6ix9ine does not intend to enter a witness protection program after his release from home confinement in August and plans to resume his career as a mumble rapper.
