The 39-year-old American media personality, socialite, model, businesswoman, and actress — Kimberly Noel Kardashian West — today announced that the hit E! reality TV series Keeping Up With The Kardashians has officially been cancelled.

“It it with a heavy heart that we’ve made the difficult decision as a family to say goodbye to Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

KUWTK Cancelled: All the Jenner and Kardashian sisters together: Kim, Kourtney, Kylie and Kendal.

“After what will be 14 years, 20 seasons, hundreds of episodes, and numerous spin-off shows, we are beyond grateful to all of you who’ve watched us for all of these years – through the good times, the bad times, the happiness, the years, and the many relationships and children. We’ll forever cherish the wonderful memories and countless people we’ve met along the way.”

How did KUWTK start?

It was Ryan Seacrest’s idea. He initially sent his camera crew to film a Kardashian/Jenner family barbecue and then had the brilliant idea of turning it into a full-blown reality TV series. He even believes it was his “biggest and best contribution to the world.

“I kept telling everybody I could do it but I wasn’t quite sure I was going to be able to pull it off,” he told EW. “And we’ve got it down to a science. It’s the most I’ve ever worked.”

Seacrest says moving to New York was what, ultimately, made his schedule possible.

“I love them. I love that family,” he said. “They have tackled some unbelievable things on that show. … They are as close and tight as any family I have ever met. There’s always something going on.”

Was Keeping Up With The Kardashians cancelled? Why is it ending?

People have speculated that the network decided to pull the plug on KUWTK and cancelled after its very successful 14-year long run. However, all signs seem to point at the family just being over the shoe.

Kim and Kylie are doing their own thing now and have very little time to be on the show and Kourtney has expressed interest in finally leaving.

Earlier this year, Kourtney Kardashian made it clear she no longer wanted to be a key member of the series. That much was clear as she was very rarely ever in the show anyways.

One disappointed fan called her out on it in March, and she responded and she responded by saying she’d already quit.

“I have been filming the show non-stop for 14 years,” she told Vogue Arabia in July.

“I was feeling unfulfilled and it became a toxic environment for me to continue to have it occupy as much of my life as it was.

“Privacy is something I have come to value and finding that balance of private moments with being on a reality show is hard.”

Kim recognises that the show made her.

Kim Kardashian West concluded her farewell statement by admitting that she’d be nowhere if it was not for the show’s success.

“Without Keeping Up With The Kardashians I wouldn’t be where I am today. I am so incredibly grateful to everyone who has watched and supported me and my family for the past 14 incredible years,” she added.

“This show made us who we are and I will be forever in debt to everyone who played a role in shaping our careers and changing our lives forever.”
