Lord of The Rings series: erotic nature of Elves & Rivendell “after dark”

Date:

Amazon Studios are turning J.R.R Tolkein’s classic fantasy novels, Lord of The Rings, into a television series, and it’s not going to be family friendly.

Amazon Studios snatched up the rights for Tolkein’s stories after the last remaining son of the author past earlier this year. Now it is being recreated and reimagined as a television series that is made for a more mature audience like Game of Thrones.

RUMOUR: Netflix working on Charmed movie with original cast.

Like the television adaptation of Game of Thrones, Lord of The Rings will not remain entirely faithful to the source material. Showrunners John D. Payne and Patrick McKay want to expand upon the universe and dive deep into the politics of Middle Earth.

The new Amazon Studios series will most likely have an R17+ as its rumoured that the showrunners want to make a mature adaptation of the beloved stories.

An intimacy coordinator, more commonly known as a fluffer, has recently been added to the production crew proving that the new Lord of The Rings TV series will, indeed, have some steamy love making scenes.

An intimacy coordinator is a staff member who ensures the well-being of actors who participate in sex scenes or other intimate scenes in theatre, film and television production

Elves and orgies?

A source claiming to be close to production told us that the showrunners intend on ‘hyper-sexualising” the elves and that they want to show a bit of Rivendell “after dark.”

“Their [J.D. Payne & Patrick McKay] vision of elves is similar to film depiction of the Roman Empire; they are hyper-sexualised and progressive beings. Not modest at all,” the source told us.

Morfydd Clark as young Galadriel

Tolkein himself did actually say that “the union of love is indeed to them great delight and joy”, and thee elves perceive their sexually active phase as “the most merry in life”. However, he did not go into explicit detail about it.

The source continued, “I believe they brought in the intimacy coordinator in specifically for Maxim Baldry and Morfydd Clark. Clark plays young Galadriel, Baldry plays a young Aragorn and they both have are supposed to be in several graphic intimate scenes.”

Darker than the movies.

The new Lord of The Rings TV series is heavily inspired by the HBO hit TV adaption of George R.R. Martin’s Game of Throne novels. Executives have even brought on Bryan Cogman, Game of Thrones writer and producer, as a consultant to oversea the production.

Last September Amazon announced that Cogman will work closely with the writing duo and will serve on the “LOTR” series in a consulting role. This is so that they can capture as much of the original vibe and success of the critically acclaimed HBO series.

Casting and filming in New Zealand.

Payne and McKay have confirmed that the series will be filmed in New Zealand like the New Line Cinema film trilogy.

“We knew we needed to find somewhere majestic, with pristine coasts, forest and mountains, that is also a home to world-class sets, studios and highly skilled and experienced craftspeople and other staff,” they wrote. “And we’re happy to officially confirm New Zealand as our home for our series.”

“We are grateful to the people and the government of New Zealand and especially Auckland for supporting us during this pre-production phrase. The abundant measure of Kiwi hospitality with which they have welcomed us has already made us feel right at home, and we are looking forward to deepening our partnership in the years to come.”

Although most major roles in the upcoming series have been cast, Amazon Studios continues its casting call for “funky looking” progressive types who will most likely serve as extras.
