It looks like the deadly Chinese coronavirus is now infecting films. Mission Impossible 7 delayed over growing concerns of spread.
Paramount Pictures was set to film in Venice for 3 weeks, but unfortunately had to cancel the shoot out of “an abundance of caution for the safety and well-being of our cast and crew”.
Venice, Italy, has currently has over 200 hundred confirmed positive cases of Coronavirus infections, making it the worst area outside of Asia.

Tom Cruise stops production for Mission Impossible 7. It looks like the deadly, potentially man-made, coronavirus is now infecting films. The next Mission Impossible has now been delayed over growing concerns of spread.
Paramount made a statement explaining why they delayed filming. A spokesperson said, “It comes out of an abundance of caution for the safety and well-being of our cast and crew, and efforts of the local Venetian government to halt public gatherings in response to the threat of coronavirus, we are altering the production plan for our three-week shoot in Venice.”
According to Paramount filming in Venice was the “scheduled first leg of an extensive production” of Mission Impossible 7.
It is unknown whether the delay will have an impact the release date of Mission Impossible 7 although it is looking like it is very likely. It is understandable that Paramount Pictures do not want to risk exposing Tom Cruise and the rest of the Mission Impossible crew to the coronavirus.

The cast and crew for the Mission Impossible sequel, including Tom Cruise, are safe and well and do not have the coronavirus aka COVID-19.
