Will the next NFS be EA’s GTA?

The count-down for the Need For Speed reveal is live! We’re expecting to EA to reveal their GTA rival; the reboot of NFS: Underground!

Update: The new NFS is called NFS Heat and is a a cops and robber racing game.

Electronic Arts are pretty much set to reveal their upcoming Need For Speed game later tonight. The announcement will be broadcast live on their YouTube page, and they’ve told us that fans will be absolutely blown away with the new announcement. What could it possibly be?

There are rumours floating around for some time now that EA’s Need For Speed game will rival Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto series, but what does that mean? Could the next NFS be the next-generation NFS: Underground game we’ve all been waiting for? Imagine jacking cars, souping them up and then competing in pink-slip races against other players across massively open-world.

Fans have been itching for a proper sequel to Need for Speed: Underground for quite some time. Need For Speed: Underground 2 was a smashing success and, according to Gamespot, managed to outsell Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for a couple of weeks back in 2014. But since then EA have failed to properly restore the franchises to its former glory, but hopefully that might change with the next game… and, fortunately, we don’t have to wait too long to find out. The announcement will be live on YouTube in a few hours!
