Disney planned to replace Chadwick Boseman Black Panther before death

Date:

Dinsey/Marvel planned to replace Chadwick Boseman as Blank Panther with Letitia Wright (Shuri) before he died of cancer.

Chadwick Boseman’s was a close-guarded secret that only his friends, family, and employers knew about. Disney/Marvel knew of his condition and allegedly had backup plans to replace him in Black Panther.

It came as a shock and a terrible surprise to many when they heard that Chadwick Boseman had passed away. The Black Panther was only 43-years-old and he looked to be in fit and fighting form in his films. That’s because Boseman didn’t want to be known as ‘that actor with cancer’ and he certainly didn’t want sympathy or handouts from people.

Boseman died at his Los Angeles home this morning. His wife and family were by his side for his final hours, his publicist, Nicki Fioravante, told The Associated Press.

Nobody knew, but Boseman was diagnosed with colon cancer four years ago, his family revealed.

Chadwick kept his cancer a secret.

“A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much,” his family said. “From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and several more – all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy. It was the honour of his career to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther.”

Colon cancer kills more men than breast cancer kills women. The statistics are terrifying; 1 in 9 men will be diagnosed with the prostate caner during their lives which, if not treated, develops into colon cancer.

Earlier this year reports started spreading that Disney/Marvel were going to replace Chadwick Boseman as the Black Panther with Shuri (played by Letitia Wright). Since the public weren’t aware of Boseman’s terminal illness they assumed that Disney’s decision has something to do with ‘wokeness’. However, Disney/Marvel were merely preparing themselves for a worst case scenario.

Letitia Wright to replace Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther

Disney planned to replace Chadwick Boseman with Letitia Wright (Shuri) as Black Panther. before he died of cancer.

Letitia Wright to replace him in sequel.

In January, 2020, Black Panther producers were informed that Chadwick Boseman’s health was quickly deteriorating and they needed to make drastic changes to the story so that Marvel’s Black Panther could return to the big screen.

The change makes sense considering Disney/Marvel have already declared Shuri as the new Black Panther through a series of comic books.

Boseman’s last appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was in Avengers: Endgame. He was briefly seen in a black suit at Tony Stark’s funeral.
