Vegans around the world rejoiced when Impossible and Beyond made meatless meat patties that tastes like real meat. Finally, they could enjoy the finer things in life without without worrying about animal cruelty or climate change, right?

Rumours started spreading from the dark corners of the internet about how the Impossible and Beyond Burgers are far more unethical than just a plain old beef burger, and that’s because it contained actual human meat.
Sounds like the plot to that Buffy episode, right? Scary!
It almost sounds too crazy to be real, but it isn’t really. 258 vegie burgers were tested in America and one of them was found to contain actual human DNA. Now, of course, this could just be some random unrelated case but it is still super gross. And as far as I know, this case is not at all connected to Impossible or Beyond.
Scientist say we SHOULD eat human meat
There’s a good chance this conspiracy theory started when world renowned scientists said that humans should start to eat their own to help fight climate change.

Stockholm School of Economics professor and researcher Magnus Soderlund reportedly said he believes eating human meat, derived from dead bodies, might be able to help save the human race if only a world society were to “awaken the idea.”
Is the Impossible Burger safe for vegans?
Here is where things get a bit creepy. When asked if the Impossible Burger was vegan friendly the company did not respond by saying there is no meat in their patties, but instead no animal by-products: “the Impossible Burger and Beyond Meat Burger are both vegan — neither contains any animal products of by-products.”
Does that mean it contains human meat? Of course not, but it is still spooky.
