Looks like Disney are warming up to Johnny Depp. Jack Sparrow returns in Rare’s Xbox/Windows exclusive Sea of Thieves: Pirate’s Life.
Disney are apparently not done with Johnny Depp. Microsoft sign huge deal with Disney to bring the Captain Jack Sparrows from Pirates of the Caribbean back to life in the Xbox/Windows exclusive multiplayer game Sea of Thieves. Does that mean he is returning for another movie?

Microsoft just announced a brand new exclusive Pirates of the Caribbean story starring the most of the characters from the franchise including Davy Jones and Jack Sparrows and, although it hasn’t been confirmed yet, it really sounds like Johnny Depp returned to do the voice acting for Jack Sparrows. This new story is exclusive to Rare’s Sea of Thieves game and is promised to have the charm and wit of the classic series.
“We’ve worked closely with the Walt Disney Games team throughout this whole process, crafting an original story which brings out the best elements of both Sea of Thieves and their beloved Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. To see iconic characters like Jack Sparrow and his crew represented in Sea of Thieves‘ unique art style, interacting with our own pirate universe – it’s been such an amazing experience to bring this whole thing to life and we can’t wait for you to dive in,” a spokesperson for Rare announced.
Whether or not Johnny Depp is actually voicing Jack Sparrows — but we believe it is him — in Sea of Thieves: Pirate’s Life this is still a massive win for the the 58-year-old actor as it shows that Disney are still very attached to his character and there’s still a very high demand for his return to the Pirates of the Caribbean film series.
Sea of Thieves is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox Cloud Gaming. Sea of Thieves: Pirate’s Life will be available worldwide later this month on June 22.
