Keanu Reeves is in talks to star in Martin Scorsese, Leonardo DiCaprio, Todd Field, and Sam Shaw’s upcoming Hulu series adaptation of “The Devil in the White City.”
Apparently, Keanu Reeves is in talks to feature in a series adaptation of Erik Larson’s 2003 book, The Devil in the White City, that will premiere on Stan in Australia, according to Deadline exclusive.
Two men, an architect and a serial murderer, were eternally bonded by the Chicago World’s Fair of 1893, the subject of the novel The Devil in the White City.
Daniel H. Burnham, a clever and meticulous architect, and Henry H. Holmes, a gorgeous and cunning doctor who erected his own pharmaceutical “Murder Castle” on fairgrounds — a palace meant to entice, torment, and mutilate young ladies – are the two protagonists in this film. During the Gilded Age, the novel takes us on a journey of murder, passion, and mystery.
This would be Keanu Reeves first significant role on TV!
The film adaptation has been in different phases of production since Leonardo DiCaprio purchased the film rights to the book in 2010 and previously set it up as a movie at Paramount with Martin Scorsese to helm.
Actor Leonardo DiCaprio and director Martin Scorsese are also executive producers on HULU, and Stan Australia respectively, which is currently in development. The limited series’ first two episodes will be directed by Todd Field. In addition to ABC Signature and Appian Way, Paramount TV Studios is producing.
Stacey Sher informed Deadline last year that Sam Shaw, the man behind Castle Rock and Manhattan, was working on the project.
The Matrix Resurrections, which came out at the end of last year, is a good time to release this. As of 2020, Reeves is starring in Bill & Ted Face The Music, which will be released in 2023, as well as in John Wick: Chapter 4, which will be published in 2023.
