Unknown rapper, NoName_Trapper, who tackled Dave Chappelle during his Netflix Is A Joke event intended to use knife and kill him had many trans friends.
Bit more than a publicity stunt? The unknown amateur rapper who tackled Dave Chappelle at his Netflix Is A Joke event at The Hollywood Bowl smuggled a knife into the event and may have intended to use it on the comedian. According to his fans, he was a trans ally who had many transgender friends.
After comedian Dave Chappelle was attacked at a concert in Los Angeles, a man has been charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), Isaiah Lee, 23, was arrested and taken into custody on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
On Tuesday night, Chappelle, 48, was tackled during his performance at the Netflix Is a Joke event at the Hollywood Bowl. The incident occurred as the comedian was wrapping up his set and thanked previous performers such as Chris Rock, Leslie Jones, and Jon Stewart.
Isaiah Lee is better known as NoName Trapper, his artist pseudonym. He’s an inexperienced rap artist who has previously released a song on Donald J. Trump, Dave Chappelle, and the trans flag on his Spotify channel.
Some of Chappelle’s jokes have sparked outrage in the transgender community, prompting employees at Netflix to organise a walkout in protest of the streaming company’s decision to promote the artist for what they deemed to be “transphobic” humour.
The 48-year-old stand-up comedian has subsequently disclosed that he has received multiple death threats from transgender individuals and their allies.

Although no reason for the attack has been established, officials suspect Isaiah Lee, 23, intended to gravely injure or murder Chappelle.
Isaiah Lee aka NoName_Trapper, who authorities claimed was equipped with an imitation pistol that included a knife, was apprehended quickly by security personnel swarming the stage. Fortunately Chappelle escaped major injury.
Security believe that Isaiah Lee intended to use the switch-blade knife hidden within the replica gun on Chappelle.
“First, he tackled Dave, and Dave put up a bit of resistance. So the dude tried to run off,” said Brandon Brown, a Los Angeles film worker who was in attendance on Tuesday evening.
“There were probably 15 people that were almost immediately all over the stage.
“The venue seemed pretty secure. It seems like a pretty damning indictment of their security detail.”
Los Angeles police identified the alleged attacker as Isaiah Lee, 23, and said he had been charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon.
“The suspect produced what was later discovered to be a replica handgun and pointed the item at” Chappelle, police said.
“Hollywood Bowl uniformed security officers, who witnessed the incident, engaged the suspect and removed him from the victim and took him into custody.”
Others have blamed the event on Will Smith’s assault on Chris Rock during the 2022 Academy Awards, alleging that he demonstrated how individuals can assault someone on stage with little to no repercussions.
@DaveChappelle Blame Will Smith for what happened. He opened that door. Glad you weren’t injured and the attacker has lost a job and faces charges. People will never truly understand how important this is until they are also silenced.— Go ahead and be offended by the handle. (@pussyliqqer) May 4, 2022
Following the altercation, video footage shows Lee being carried away handcuffed to a stretcher with a broken and disjointed right arm, a black eye, and multiple cuts on his face.
Witnesses report seeing security fight to disarm the suspect of his dangerous weapon, which is likely why his arm was so badly broken.
Mr. Isaiah Lee was apprehended and detained for felony assault with a deadly weapon in the first degree. At the moment, he is being detained on a USD$30,000 bond according to TMZ.
