American actor and son of the legendary comedian — the late and great Robin Williams (Good Morning Vietnam, Mrs Doubtfire) — took to Twitter this morning to share a heartfelt message with his father 7 years after he passed on.

“Dad, seven years ago today you passed on. The joy and inspiration you brought to the world carries on in your legacy and in your family, friends, and fans you so loved. You lived to bring laughter and to help others. I will be celebrating your memory today. Love you forever,” Zak tweeted.

Soon after, one edgy Twitter troll, decided to give his two cents on Williams’ tragic end, completely ignoring the emotional meaning behind the tweet.

“I support Zak and I miss his dad. But Robin Williams didn’t just ‘pass on’. He killed himself,” the person tweeted, insinuating that the Aladdin actor did not go to heaven.

We’re people too!

Zak’s half-sister, Zelda Williams, responded to the comment, saying: “How about we let people who’ve lost loved ones mourn and verbalize their loss how they feel comfortable? He’s my brother, and his son, and a father in his own right. We’re people too, not just advocates. Please don’t forget that on this often dehumanizing app. Have compassion.”

Zelda’s dad, Robin McLaurin Williams, was one of the world’s greatest comedian and actor. Like Bill Murray, Williams is often considered as one of the best comedians of all time, mostly for his improvisational abilities and the various personalities he developed on the spur of the moment, which he then represented in films from dramas to comedies.

Sadly, Robin Williams was found unconscious in his luxury Paradise Cay, California, home. He was pronounced dead shortly after the paramedics arrived. Authorities believe that the 63-year-old actor took his own life.

Although Zelda and Zak are only half-siblings, they both became advocates for mental health awareness after their father, Robin Williams, passed away.
