The scene where the actor is traversing the outside of a skyscraper with nothing but a single harness keeping him from falling to his death was not CGI, nor did Cruise use a stunt double; he did it himself. Tom Cruise’s crazy stunt caused some commotion with his insurance company as they were unwilling to insure the actor or the film. Cruise criticised the agency for wrongfully terminating their contract.

In spite of the controversy Cruise continues to do his own stunts. A video surfaced a while ago showing how they shot one crazy stunt Mission: Impossible – Fallout movie… and it is truly insane and very awesome.

The 57-year-old actor launches himself over a camera man and out of a cargo plane, known as the Halo jump, wearing nothing but a wing-suit. The side by side video comparison shows the before and after footage with the only difference being the added lightening effects. Everything else was real.
