People wonder if a Tesla car caused the fire which sent Jay Leno to hospital for serious burns.
In Los Angeles, a garage fire caused Jay Leno’s car to catch fire, and he was taken to the hospital as a result of his injuries–fans think that an electric vehicle like a Tesla may have been what caused the fire.
On Sunday, a source close to Leno issued a statement regarding the renowned talk-show host, he was reportedly working in the Los Angeles garage where he keeps his automobile.
The 72-year-old victim was apparently rushed to Grossman Burn Center’s burn unit after the accident.
The Financial Brand conference on Sunday, November 13th had planned to have Leno as a speaker, but he was unable to make it due to a “very serious medical emergency,” according to the event’s organisers.
Thankfully, the flames did not reach Leno’s eye or ear, although it is still unclear how badly the 72-year-old TV personality was hurt.
“His family was not able to provide us very many details, but there was a very serious medical emergency that is preventing Jay from traveling,” an email from The Financial Brand, obtained by People Magazine stated. “All we know is that he is alive, so our prayers go out to him and his family tonight.”
Fans are concerned that the incident was serious enough to seriously disfigure the legendary television host. The gasoline fire was serious enough to cause severe bodily harm and disfigurement.
While many are sending their well-wishes to Leno and his family, others who disagree with his political views are mocking, and even hoping the former talk show host dies. Most hateful messages come from the far-left and climate change activists.

“I didn’t really like Jay Leno and considering he’s most famous for being a guy who owns a hundred cars him burning up in a car fire is pretty funny. Live by the car, die by the car,” one user tweeted.
“LMAO this is his fault for loving these monstrous things,” another added.
Jay Leno’s recent activities have favoured the American left, or the Democrat party, despite the fact that he has not been very forthright about his political beliefs. Joe Biden was given the opportunity to drive one of Leno’s vintage automobiles as part of a promotional segment.
Despite having numerous automobiles, Leno has always been an advocate for climate change and apparently recently purchased an electric vehicle to use as his everyday vehicle. Fans speculate that this electric vehicle, who some have reported to be a Tesla, may have been the one that burst into to flames and ended up sending Jay Leno to the hospital.
One fan cited a curious line in the TMZ article: “Burned at his garage when ‘one of the cars erupted into flames without warning?‘ Dare we ask what make/model the spontaneously igniting vehicle is?”
Jay Leno does possess many luxury Tesla vehicles, which he stores in his renowned Los Angeles garage, and malfunctioning electric vehicles have been known to catch fire.
Did a Tesla cause the fire?
Despite quite rarity, Tesla vehicles have been known to spontaneously catch fire. According to Tesla Fires, as of today there have been a total of 143 confirmed occurrences, with roughly one-third resulting in fatalities.
The Stamford Fire Department reported that one Tesla caught fire while the car was parked.
“At 11:18 AM today, the Stamford Combined 911 Dispatch Center began receiving calls of a car fire behind the Blue Ginger Restaurant at 1132 E Main Street. Additional calls reported the car to be a Tesla. Two engines, a truck company, and an incident commander were initially dispatched to the incident bringing 14 firefighters to the scene as part of the initial assignment in just a few minutes,” the report reads.
“Engine Company 4 arrived on the scene at 11:24 and reported a car fire in a parking lot, heavily involved in flames. It was quickly confirmed that the vehicle on fire was a battery-powered Tesla.”
According to a German news outlet, a similar incident happened at Bietigheim-Bissingen, where a parked Tesla randomly caught fire and burned for a whole two days.
We do not yet know if a gasoline or electric vehicle caused the fire. The severity of Leno’s health has not been confirmed by his family or representatives, but the worst is feared.
UPDATE VIA VARIETY: Jay Leno has confirmed that he suffered burns from a gasoline fire, saying, “I got some serious burns from a gasoline fire. I am OK. Just need a week or two to get back on my feet.”
