Elon Musk is set to unban Donald Trump, Alex Jones, Project Veritas and many others after taking over Twitter.
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and Space X, has gone into Twitter headquarters and is likely to assume control in the coming days. One of the first items on his agenda is to remove shadowbans and unban accounts such as Donald Trump, Alex Jones, and Project Veritas.
Several prominent conservative and libertarian Twitter accounts have been permanently banned without explanation. Elon Musk has pledged to make Twitter more transparent and open source, and he intends to change the rules and reinstate accounts suspended for odd reasons.
Elon Musk is a fervent advocate for free speech, which he highlighted as one of the primary reasons for his decision to acquire Twitter for $44 billion.
Nonetheless, big tech and the mainstream media are extremely skeptical of the takeover and accuse the tech tycoon of stifling the voices of the marginalised.
Google has pushed to the top of its search results all stories that are critical of Elon Musk, despite the fact that his plan to acquire Twitter was welcomed with overwhelmingly positive comments from every group other than those on the far left of the political spectrum.
Perhaps the fury stems from Elon Musk’s criticism of the Democrat party leaders’ Orwellian and totalitarian censoring practises and their fear that he will reinstate Donald Trump.
“By ‘free speech’, I simply mean that which matches the law. I am against censorship that goes far beyond the law. If people want less free speech, they will ask government to pass laws to that effect. Therefore, going beyond the law is contrary to the will of the people,” Musk tweeted on Tuesday.
According to someone in Musk’s inner circle, the billionaire entrepreneur plans to reinstate all suspended accounts. But now that he has his own social media network called Truth Social, it’s unlikely that former President Trump will return to Twitter.
