The alleged cover appeared on Instagram on Wednesday featuring Jennifer Aniston, dubbed as a “babe eternal,” to promote the magazine’s annual beauty issue.
“Jennifer Aniston has been a beacon of American glamour for the past 25 years, and now she’s stretching her boundaries,” the Instagram caption read. “In a series of five newsstand covers (just try to choose a favorite), she channels iconic beauty looks from the ‘60s and ‘70s.”

Breaking news reporter at NBC, Janelle Griffith, claimed the image looked to be deliberately airbrushed by InStyle magazine to make Aniston more appealing to minorities. The reporter also noted that some have compared her complexion to that of Rachel Dolezal, a white woman who gained national attention in 2015 for masquerading as black while serving as a local NAACP leader.

Fortunately, it seems as though this alleged outrage is just a small Twitter crowed. Unfortunately, however, it seems as though the smallest crowds have the biggest voices and are often champion by mainstream media.

One would need to look no further than the replies to those who are allegedly outraged and want Jennifer Aniston accused of black-face to find that the majority stand with the actress and agree that this is ridiculous.

The truth is you will always find people who are outraged about something. The real problem here is that reporters, like Janelle Griffith, are trying to legitimise these absurd claims by giving these few unhinged fundamentalists a voice and thus bringing the story to the spotlight which ultimately will outrage more people.
Whether the image is Photoshopped or Aniston just had a spray tan that day, the masses agree, their is absolutely nothing racist about the photo. This outrage is simply manufactured.
